Recently, we had the privilege of styling a breathtaking christening at the beautiful Waterfront Function Centre in Sans Souci. With its panoramic water views nestled by the sparkling waters of Kogarah Bay, this venue provided the perfect backdrop for a day filled with love, family, and elegant details.
When Sienna’s mum met with me, she mentioned she wanted something soft, surrounded by lots of lush florals.
We delivered that!
The Statement Cake Area
The cake area was designed to be the focal point of the room. We created a show-stopping display that seamlessly blended soft textures of tulle and pearls, cascading florals, and modern design elements.
The props matched perfectly with a stunning curved panel backdrop and cake plinth that added an extra modern feel. We also included a little highchair to complete the look for little Sienna, ensuring amazing photo opportunities.

- Florals: Our beautiful florist, @ohara.flora, created pink and purple orchids and blush seasonal modern florals. These flowed beautifully with touches of tulle and pearls, adding an extra delicate softness and creating a lush, cascading effect that framed the amazing masterpiece cake.
- Cake: A sleek, four-tiered cake stood on a modern plinth, surrounded by intricate floral arrangements. It wasn’t just a dessert but a true work of art by @treatsnsweetsbymariah.
Table Centrepieces
We ensured the centrepieces matched and complemented the backdrop.
We chose something simple that tied in perfectly with the venue: glass vases with pearls and water, floating candles, and simple bud vases in the same colour palette as the backdrop design.
Stationery
We worked closely with a graphic designer, @eventiianco, to create matching personalised custom stationery that aligned with the event's style.
We designed an elegant welcome sign, place settings, and menus that added a personal and polished touch.
Styling Philosophy
The styling of this event proves that simplicity doesn’t mean sacrificing impact. By focusing on a few key details, I always tell my clients to make their cake area stand out, as this is where most of the photos are taken. For all other elements, a minimalistic style works best.
